Who are the winners of the first WaLa International Film Festival? The Jury of the festival was a perfect and highly competent team, who have already gained experience in various national and international film festivals as Judges

The Jury team evaluated all the participating films in three categories.
Short films The first place winner received a festival Carpet, a certificate from Jury and 500 €. Itwas won with a short-feature film “Outpost” directed by Sayed Jalal Hussaini. In the second place, a festival Carpet and a certificate from the Jury was given. It was won with the short documentary “A Fotographer by the name of Father” directed by Mohammad Khadem Haidari.
Third place recieved a certificate from theJury, it was won with the short feature film “14 o clock” directed by Sayed Hassan Moussavi.
The winner in the medium-length documentary “The forbidden Faces” directed by Rahman Alemi received a first winning price of a festival Carpet, a certificate from the Jury and 500 €. In the second place, recieved was a festival carpet and a certificate from the Jury. It was won with the short documentary “Parlika” directed by Sahraa Karimi.

In the second place, we got two winners,given was a festival carpet and a certificate from the Jury. It was won with the documentary “True Warriors” directed by Ronja Wurmb-Seibel and Niklas Schenck. The movie “An Apple from Paradise” directedby Humayoun Morowat.
Thus, the award ceremony was not yet over. The Jury decided to award “special price” for a film that did not participate in the competition: “Tar o Zakhma” directed by Roya Sadat. She received a festival carpet and a certificate from theJury.
Another important award was the Audience award. Breathless Audience expected the result, especially because “The Breadwinner” by Nora Twomey was shown only after the Jury’s award ceremony (the Jury had of course seen this like everyone else before).
So the tension continued until the last minute of the festival program. After the counting of all votes from the Audiences, the clear winner was: “Osama” directed by Siddiq Barmak .The price was a festival carpet, a certificate from the festival director and 500 €.
