Soraya – wife and mother of two children – works as a public official. While struggling to enforce the law in Afghanistan she continuously angers her husband and her in-laws with her actions. When she decides to save a young woman things go from bad to worse up to the point that she’s arrested and put on death row. Asking for justice she writes to the president, the last person who can save her. With A LETTER TO THE PRESIDENT director Roya Sadat gives insight into the daily realities of women who are still not allowed to break free.
